چکیده

Journal of Plant Registrations, Vol. 4, No. 2, May 2010 159 ‘USG 3209’/‘Jaypee’ (U/J) (Reg. No. MP-3, NSL 465777 MAP) is a soft red winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) recombinant inbred line (RIL) population developed by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and submitted to the USDA–ARS National Small Grains Germplasm Research Facility in Aberdeen, ID, in 2008. This mapping population is composed of 130 F11:12 RILs. Both parents of the population are protected under the Plant Variety Protection Act. USG 3209 (PI 658508 MAP) was developed and released by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State UniverRegistration of USG 3209/Jaypee Wheat Recombinant Inbred Line Mapping Population

Validation, Saturation, and Marker-Assisted Selection of Quantitative Trait Loci Conferring Adult Plant Resistance to Powdery

Powdery mildew caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici is one of the most devastating diseases in wheat (Triticum aestivum) worldwide. Hypersensitive, race specific genes primarily have been deployed to control the disease, however recent efforts have shifted to breeding for more durable resistance, such as ‘adult plant resistance’ (APR). Molecular markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL) a...

Mapping QTLs related to Zn and Fe concentrations in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) grain using microsatellite markers

Mineral nutrient malnutrition, particularly deficiency in zinc and iron, afflicts over 3 billion people worldwide. Biofortification of food crops is the best approach for conciliating the micronutrient deficiencies. Understanding the genetic basis of their accumulation is the preconditions for enhancing of these micronutrients. In our study, a mapping population of a set of 118 recombinant inbr...

Genetic Diversity and Relationships of Agronomic Characters in Wheat Recombinant Inbred Lines

Objective: Wheat is the most important crop in Iran. Self sufficiency in wheat production is one of the economic and food safety policies in the country. In spite of the efforts which have been made in this area, the mean of wheat yield in Iran is less than its world average. Methods: In order to identifying of the high yielding wheat lines with optimal characteristics and to determine the trai...

Mapping QTLs for Agronomic Traits in Rice Under Water Stress Condition Using Iranian Recombinant Inbred Lines Population

In the current study, a set of 96 recombinant inbred lines (RIL) at F8, derived from a cross between two varieties, Anbarbu (sensitive to drought stress) and Sepidroud (tolerant to drought stress) were used. The experiment was performed at Gonbad Kavous located in the Golestan province of Iran in 2010–2011 using two augmented designs at normal and stress conditions, separately. The RIL populati...
